What you will learn
Kite setup and safety
Understand the wind window, launch and landing communication, equipment checks and the quick-release safety system before entering the water.
Body drag and board recovery
Develop controlled movement through the water, directional body dragging and the skills required to recover your board safely.
Water start and first rides
Combine kite power with board position, practise controlled starts in both directions and learn how to stop safely.
Equipment and lesson planning
Training equipment is selected for the rider and conditions. Lesson times may change when wind or tide is unsuitable; this is a normal part of responsible kitesurf coaching.
